How Small is a Panda? Giant pandas start out very small! A newborn panda is the size of a stick of butter, about 1/900th the size of its mother, and is one of the smallest newborn mammals relative to its mother's size. They weigh only three ounces at birth, and they're hairless and completely helpless. Giant panda mothers provide great care to their tiny cubs, and for several days after birth, the do not leave the den . . . not even to eat or drink!

SOZA (Support Our Zoos and Aquariums) is structured to provide supplemental revenue - 50% of your purchase - to participating zoos, aquariums and conservation organizations.
