Original artwork © 2005 Samara E. King & TwoBee, LLC rendered in color pencil for the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

Giant Green Sea Anemones (Anthopleura xanthogrammica) can be found along the low to mid intertidal zones of the Pacific Ocean, from Alaska to Panama, where cold water swells can occur. Though they may look rugged, rocky shore habitats are fragile. Rocky shore creatures like the green anemone are at risk from coastal development, pollution and being “loved to death” by visitors.
